You will directly impact and steer the work of a team of engineers, data scientists and data analysts by guiding the collection, development and delivery of the data products they develop.
As a Data Product Manager at Similarweb, you will oversee the development and delivery of our core data product, which focuses on web browsing data. This role requires a mix of product sense, project management, data acumen, technical expertise, business logic, analytical skills, and personal skills.
In essence, you will:
Lead the data development processes, ensuring the highest quality and relevance of web browsing data.
Ensure the data products meet market needs and business goals.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to build a robust data infrastructure to ensure scalable data products.
To achieve this, you will engage in:
Vision and Roadmap Creation: Understanding the overarching vision and direction is fundamental to creating a coherent and supportive data roadmap.
Mapping and Prioritizing Needs: Engaging with stakeholders to map out and prioritize their needs and expectations ensures that the roadmap addresses the most critical aspects first.
Defining Data Challenges: Identifying and defining the data challenges comes next, setting the stage for architectural and design decisions that will address these issues.
Breaking Down Business Questions: Translating high-level business questions into actionable data requirements allows for detailed planning and execution.
Leading Data Processes Roadmap: Establishing and leading the roadmap for data processes ensures that there is a structured plan to follow.
Guiding Data Development: Working closely with the data team (DE, DS) to develop the necessary data structures and solutions based on the roadmap.
Analyzing and Optimizing Data: Continual analysis and optimization of data processes ensure that the data remains relevant, diverse, and high quality.
Collaborating with Stakeholders: Ongoing collaboration with stakeholders across various products ensures the continuous improvement and adoption of data solutions, addressing any conflicts or complementary needs.
Requirements: You will be have fun and be successful in this role if you own the following:
Must have experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience leading data teams (analysis, engineering, science, collection, etc.) Alternatively - experience as a solution architect or a technical product manager in a big data company.
Experience with large-scale data collection, curation, processing, and delivery, particularly in companies that sell data.
Proven experience in writing technical specifications related to data flow and structure.
Recent experience in managing complex data projects involving diverse data entities and dependencies.
Skills:
Strong passion for detail, exceptional execution skills, and a hands-on approach.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals, including product, R&D, executives, business partners, and customers.ENG
